Up Date on Marjorie

Marjorie seemed better today, she was sitting up in bed, had, had a bed bath, ate a small amount of lunch, had many visitors today, she had only had by mouth pain medication today, she was pretty exausted when I left tonight. I had the nurse, Carolyn, give her an IV pain medication and put her to bed for the night. I hope she gets a good restfull sleep tonight, she really needs than more than anything man can do for her. She was in the Lords hands when that truck hit her. This is the second broken neck she has survived through, the first was in 1989 when she was hit broad side by a drunk driver, still sitting in her driveway, no less. Anyway, her prognosis looks good and all in all she is a tough woman for 82 years old. Well, I didn't see the Doctor tonight, as it is Sunday, but I will have talked to Dr. Neese by the time I write again. Hopefully I will be able to give more information then. Bye for now.........

Car Accident 11/09/07 Marjorie Cantrell

Hello Everyone,

Well, I have some news and not good news, I have been very busy the past 2 days. On Friday morning my Mother-in-law, Marjorie, was in a very bad car accident. It was foggy, and as she went through the light onto Hwy 62 she got hit by a speeding F-250 Ford Truck, she was in a Grand Marque, it wiped it out. Spun her around 360 degrees. She is in Norman Regional Hospital with multipal injuries, she has neck fractures at C5/6,6/7 7/T1, also a broken first rib on the left, many cuts and bruises. It literally rattled her brain, her eyes are crossed and pretty much non responsive, Dr. Razook came in today and said nothing is torn or messed up, in time they will correct themselves. She should be okay, but it will be a long road back to complete recovery. Dr. Neese is taking care of her, he is an Ortho/Neuro Physcian. I will up-date regularly on her condition and progress. Right now, she is not talking or eating, the rib is very painful. She lays there with her eyes closed but of course they are keeping her heavily sedatied right now, they are giving her Dalaudid for the pain. I guess everything that is wrong will heal in time and sleep is the best thing for her at this point and time. Keep us all in your Prayers. Until nextime, Bye
